In My Mailbox #1 (finally!)

IMM is hosted by Kristi at The Story Siren.

I finally got something in my mail (not box)! It's now 9: 51 pm, and the postman just knocked on my door, like 20 minutes ago. Weird time to deliver the mail, right?

I got 2 of the many books I'm waiting for, but getting these was like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, I know now it's true.

So, here are the books I got:

The Forest of Hands and Teeth, by Carrie Ryan (Hardcover)

In Mary’s world there are simple truths. The Sisterhood always knows best. The Guardians will protect and serve. The Unconsecrated will never relent. And you must always mind the fence that surrounds the village; the fence that protects the village from the Forest of Hands and Teeth.
But, slowly, Mary’s truths are failing her. She’s learning things she never wanted to know about the Sisterhood and its secrets, and the Guardians and their power, and about the Unconsecrated and their relentlessness. When the fence is breached and her world is thrown into chaos, she must choose between her village and her future-between the one she loves and the one who loves her. And she must face the truth about the Forest of Hands and Teeth. Could there be life outside a world surrounded in so much death?

I won this book in a giveaway hosted by Diane at The Book Resort. Thanks Diane!

The Changeling, by Robin Jenkins (Paperback)

Thirteen-year-old Tom Curdie, the product of a Glasgow slum, is on probation for theft. His teachers admit that he is clever, but only one, Charles Forbes, sees an uncanny warmth in his reticence and in his seemingly insolent smile. So he decides to take Tom on holiday with his own family...
This powerful novel explores one of Jenkin's consistent and most fruitful themes - how goodness and innocence is compromised when faced with the pressures of growing up and becoming part of society.

This one came all the way from Germany, it was sent by ApoloniaX. From BookCrossing. After reading it, I must send it to Mexico I think.
Thanks ApoloniaX!

I'm super happy, but now I want all of my books here with me.
Remember I won TBS? Like 2 months ago. I don't know what happened to it, but I think I'm letting it go. Can't wait forever.

xo,

I loved The Forest of Hands and Teeth - great book! I hope it creeps you out a bit like it did to me. I've heard of Changeling, but never looked much into it. Enjoy and welcome to IMM!
