Create your Debut YA Novel cover!

Thanks to NotNessie @ Today's Adventure, I found this really cool game.
All you have to do is follow the instructions, and you'll have you YA book cover in minutes!

1 – Go to "Fake Name Generator" or click http://www.fakenamegenerator.com/
The name that appears is your author name.

2 – Go to "Random Word Generator" or click http://www.websitestyle.com/parser/randomword.shtml
The word listed under "Random Verb" is your title.

3 – Go to "FlickrCC" or click http://flickrcc.bluemountains.net/index.php
Type your title into the search box. The first photo that contains a person is your cover.

4 – Use Photoshop, Picnik, or similar to put it all together. Be sure to crop and/or zoom in.

5 – Post it to your site along with this text.

Let 100 Scope Notes
know that you made one by commenting here, and it'll be added to the gallery!

Here are my covers (I created more than one, so the 1st is my "debut", and the others are the next ones I "published", LOL):

I really like how this one turned out, and my writer alter ego's name is cool.

Guess who this is?
Clue: it's an artist.

I don't know what to think of this one.
I like how the fonts look, but the back of the girl...

Now you give it a try!
If you do, let me know! I'd love to see your YA debut novel's cover! LOL

xo,

I think I'm going to keep doing this, it was so much fun!
Next ones will be for my short stories!

I'm home! (and got me some new books! wii!!!)

After more than a week away from home, I'm finally back!
I've missed my house, my room, my bed, my TV, and most importantly, my dog Peyton. Here she is:
Isn't she cute? I think so.

So, I've got a few things to share with you:

Uno:
I found
Graceling! In Spanish! A year after its release in the US, just a year! Now that is important. And of course, I bought it.Notice the sentence below Graceling? It means The Seven Kingdoms I
What I liked about it was that it's the same cover than the US one. It was the 1st thing I saw when entering the store, and I grabbed it and didn't let go.

Dos:
I am officially opening a rehab centre for Bookaholics; it'll be called
BBA (Bookaholics Blogging Anonymously). No joke.
I have a problem. I buy too many books, when I should be saving for college, and for my end of HS trip to Bariloche (google it. Beautiful city, right in my province).

I must have spent like 200-250 pesos in books this month! That is
a lot.
Most of them were new, just one was used.

I got:
Graceling; VD: The Awakening, and The Struggle (just finished it); Nights in Rodanthe (lovely book, review is coming); Los Días Del Venado (can you believe I forgot it at my grandma's? noooo!!!); The Dog Walker (looks good, I read a similar book and loved it, so...); and a bunch more. (all of them in Spanish, it's hard to get your hands on books in English around here).

Tres:
So, I thought "
Maybe when I get back home I'll find something nice for me!".
Boy, was I dreaming!
I'm still (
still!) waiting for my books and mail. My 1st win was Twenty Boy Summer, more than a month ago! This is certainly testing my patience. I thank my personal god for having other books to read while waiting.

Cuatro:
Last Monday 20th was
Friend's Day here in Argentina :o)
Sadly, I was out of town, and most of my friends were too, so we're getting together this Saturday!
Do you have a Friend's Day in your Country? Or sth similar?
It's a great day, really. We share meals, mates, cakes, presents..
And we get to spend the day with our lovely group of friends,
my beautiful people, as I call them.

Cinco:
I just learned that the actress that played Victoria in Twilight won't be back for Eclipse (that character doesn't show up in New Moon)!
(old Victoria-new Victoria)

Rachelle's being replaced by Bryce Dallas Howard (The Village, Lady in the Water). I think they actually look alike, do you?
Anyway, I hate it when they do stuff like this! Changing actors is the worst move they can do. Remember when the wanted to change Taylor Lautner (Jacob) because Jacob's character's supposed to be bigger than he was in Twilight? Look at Taylor now, that's all I have to say (I still think he has a baby face, but that body...).

Ok, my BP (beautiful people), I'm going...
to bed!

Later!

Happy Birthday Daniel Radcliffe!

Happy 23rd B-Day to you!

Love,
Ella

I'm going on Vaca

<--- That's where I'm going, Lincoln.

And won't be around for at least 10 days.
My grandma doesn't have a computer, and I'll have to go to a cyber cafe to open my e-mail.
I'll post a few entries I have saved if I get the chance. If not, comment on how you like the blog's new look!

Have fun,
Be safe,
Read books.

New Blog Look

I've been wanting to change my blog's template for a while, but I couldn't find one that made me say "OK, I'll change my current template". But I found this one, and loved how it looked, so I'm keeping it.
The bad thing about this template is that I can't change the fonts' size/colour, so my links are hidden in between the rest of the post. From now on, I'll colour them so they stand out. But I won't do it in the previous posts, that would take me forever to finish. Another thing is that the font size is too little, so I'm writing this post in Large size so you can read it. I can't change the font size of the columns. So, those will stay as you see them now.
But I'm happy with how it looks now, so cute!

Do you like the change?

The World's Gone Tupsy-Turvy

I just read that Miley Cyrus is going to be starring the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' The Last Song.
Really? I mean, no offence Miley, but I think I like you better when you're singing, off the screen (
off of any kind of screen). Well maybe not...
She's also going to be starring Aprilynne Pike's
Wings' film adaptation.

I bet she's a sweet girl, but I sincerely do not like her acting.
Sorry Miley, this is just a thought.

begging that these films turn out to be ok,

Jul 16, 2009

Happy Birthday Diane!

I wish you the best, and hope you have a fantastic time today!
May you get the presents *ehem, books* you wished for!
And may you spend this day with your loved ones!

Love you!

Funny Twilight Related Site

I just found TwilightGuy.com, and it's making me write things like LOL, ROTFLMAO, and ZOMG (no idea what the Z in ZOMG means).

It's about this guy (Kaleb Nation) and his journey reading the Twilight Saga.

Check this buttons out:

So funny!

He posts about his thoughts on every chapter (he's currently reading chapter 21 of Breaking Dawn) and he also vlogs about stuff related to Twilight. You definitely need to visit his site, it is hilarious!

Kaleb is also a writer. His book comes out 9/9/9 (lol).

So, visit TwilightGuy.com!

I created a LJ account...

...and I'm still learning how to use it. Here's my Journal, Ella's Random Thoughts, I couldn't come up with a better title.
But it's cool, I guess. Certainly different than Blogger. It's got more features, which makes it even cooler, you just have to learn how to use them.
I'm already "friends" with Lisa Mantchev and Maggie Stiefvater!
Nah, lol. to be a "friend" in LJ is like Following in Blogger. But I'm their mutual friend, which means they're following me too :P

Do you have a LJ account?
Give it a try! It's fun trying to figure out the many functions it has.
But until I learn how to use it properly, I'm stuck here.
I gave up on Wordpress, too hard.

I'm posting my new Fan Fiction there, Vampire Academy. It's got nothing to do with the book series. It's based on a Role Play I was a part of a few months back.

Take a look!

My First Weekly Geeks Meme

Today's Weekly Geeks brought to you by Wendy from Caribousmom.

Here in the United States, families and individuals are celebrating our independence. Traditionally, July 4th means putting out our flags, watching fireworks displays, going to parades and concerts, barbecuing with family, and beach trips with friends. Fourth of July also makes us think of hot summer nights, summer vacations, and relaxation. In many ways, it signifies the "kick off" to summer. But on a more serious note, it represents the history, government, and traditions of our country.

So here is your "task" for this week's Weekly Geeks:

1. If you are an American citizen, share what the Fourth of July means to you and how you celebrate it. Do you think of it as the true start to summer?
4th of July means it is definitely summer. 4th of July means fireworks, bar~be~ques, humidity that clings to you, summer storms, the beach, dips in the pool, schools out, long days & lazy nights. It means lemonade, iced tea & beach reading.

2. If you are from another country, other than the United States, share what national holidays are significant to your country. Are any of them similar to our celebration of Independence Day? Are there traditions around their celebration? Do they suggest the beginning of a season or something other than the National purpose?

Our Independance Day is on the 9th of July. But we don't celebrate it like you do, it's just a school commemoration, a holiday.

3. Go a step further...let's talk books.

~ Have you read a good fiction or nonfiction book which centers around a country's search for independence?

None come to mind.

~ Do you have any book recommendations which embody the traditions or celebrations of your country?

Martin Fierro

~ And since the Fourth of July brings to mind summertime ... are there any great summer reads you are looking forward to reading over the next month or two?

(from my Wish List):
Eyes Like Stars ~ Lisa Mantchev
Prophecy of the Sisters ~ Michelle Zink
Blue Moon ~ Alyson Noel

-----------------------------------------------------------

How
awesome is that?
Even though I cannot enter the contest, I'll try to do something for it! I
heart crafting, and taking pics so I'll see what I can do. At least it'll keep me busy when I'm bored (like now).

Good luck y'all, and
CONGRATS Lisa!

I'm bored, yes

So I took the "Which True Blood Character Are You?" Quiz
And I got Sookie!

Sookie was the youngest of two children. Sookie's mind-reading ability was apparent from birth, though most people refused to acknowledge that she was able to literally read minds. Her telepathic powers manifested as a child, and it is indicated in the books that her parents thought she may have been subject to a mental illness, and was treated as such. However, Sookie does tell of one point when her father asked her to "listen" in on a business meeting to discern the true intentions of another person. She told her father the man was intending to take his money and run. Her parents died when she was 7 years old, leaving her and her older brother Jason to be raised by her grandmother.

You are a very strong person and take things as they come, you only worry when you have to and you try to make the best of everything. What people say doesn't get to you.

Take the quiz yourself!

I dare you, Shesten!

Just cause I want to ;) Darling, you fell right into my trap! :oP But I still heart you.

Shesten, I dare you to accept this challenge. I dare you to complete at least 5 of the 8 items on the list below (though I triple dog dare you to tackle them all!).

1. Watch five episodes of The Hills/The City/Laguna Beach (your choice) and blog about them. The post has to be at least 5 sentences long. (see how nice I was here, making you watch only 5 episodes instead of the whole season?).
2. Write a letter to Nicholas Cage declaring your undying love to him. Blog it.
3. Watch the Hannah Montana Movie and write a fangirly review about it (a lot of "likes", "Ums", "OMGs", and anything of the sort need to be present).
4. Write a blog post about how Peyton is waay cooler than Brooke (OTH, for those of you who don't know, and know I've nothing against B. Davies). Has to be at least 10 sentences long.
5. Write a post about how much you love Taylor Lautner, and take a pic of a part of your body (You choose, again, see how nice I'm being?) where we can see a "Team Jacob" tatoo (you can paint it, or get a temporal tatoo). The post has to be at least 10 sentences long. I encourage you to put "OMGs" and "will you marry me?'s" in the post.
6. Listen to a Reba McEntyre CD (the whole CD at once, not one song today, the other tomorrow) and vlog it to prove it.
7. Watch all three HSM movies and blog about them.
8. Read 5 books by Isabel Allende. (If you've already read any, those don't count). Blog about it.

This challenge must be completed in
6 months.

If you fail in this challenge you must record yourself lip-singing a
Jonas Bros/Hannah Montana song, and upload the vlog to your blog! Dancing is a MUST.

But if you succeed then
I will vlog about whatever you want.

If you choose to accept this dare you must follow these rules:

* Blog about your acceptance and log in with Mr Linky on the correct Acceptance Post here.
* Blog about your thoughts after completing each item. When you've completed the challenge check in with Mr Linky on the correct Completed Challenge Post on the I Dare You to Accept This Challenge Blog!

Isn't this fun?
Love you,

EDIT: Shesten has accepted the dare! We'll see how it goes ;)

Happy B-Day Hilarie! (and my fav book, Dandelion Wine)

A day like today, in 1982, the lovely Hilarie Burton was born.
From my little corner of the world,
I send you a
HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
And may you find what you're looking for at the end of the road.

******
I dunno if I had ever told you, but I have a book that I love very much.
It's not my favourite book of
all times, cause I still have a lot of books to read,
but it's my favourite so far.
And today I found out that it's Hil's fav book too!
That book is
Dandelion Wine, by Ray Bradbury.
(if you've been following me for a while you know I
heart RB)

This is a vlog where Hil shares a bit of the book with us.
Her expresions are perfect, she makes a wonderful Tom and Doug
(Tom is my fav character, by the way).

This is one of my favourite passages of the book,
but since my book is in Spanish, I'm translating here.
Hope I don't mess it up.

"A day like today," whispered Douglas, "I feel like I'm gonna be... alone."
"If you need help," said Tom, "just scream."
"What could a ten-year-old brother do?"
"A ten-year-old brother will be eleven next year. I will unravel the world like the band of a golf ball every morning, and put it back every night. I'll show you how, if you want to."
"You're crazy."
"Always have been," Tom crossed his eyes and pulled out his tongue, "always will be."

Hope you liked it!
If you haven't read Dandelion Wine, please do!
You'll love it ;o)

New Template (well the same one, but kinda different)

I've wanted a 3 column template for some time now, but last time I tried to get one, my blog got all strange, and I had to start a new one (thank you blogger for letting me export it 1st!). Now, I got it!
I think this way it's more organized, don't you?

ps: it doesn't let me upload my banner, but it'll deal with that tomorow, I gotta go now!

xox,

Girl Power! (Marriage)

Marriage Part 1

Husband and wife are having a strong argument on their 40th anniversary.
Husband yells:
- When you die, I'll have your plaque made, so it reads like this: 'Here lays my Wife -Cold as always'.
- Ah, yeah? she replies. When you die, I'll have your plaque made, so it reads like this: 'Here lays my Husband...HARD AT LAST'

................(HE ASKED FOR IT!)...................

Marriage Part 2

A Husband (doctor) and his Wife are fighting at breakfast. The Husband gets up furious and tells her:
- 'And by the way, you're no good in bed either,' and he's off to work, banging on doors.
After a while, he realizes how rude he was and decides to try and fix things between them, so he calls her. She picks up the phone after letting it ring several times, and her husband, very irritated, asks her,
- 'Why did it take you so long to pick up the phone?'
She says:
- 'I was in bed.'
- 'In bed so early, doing what?'.-
-'LOOKING FOR A SECOND OPINION'-

......... -(YES, HE ASKED FOR THAT ONE TOO!) ............

Marriage Part 3

A man has 6 children and he's very proud of his feat. He's so proud of himself, he starts calling his wife 'Mother of 6', even though she complained about this.
One night they go to a party. The man decides he's ready to leave and he wants to know if his wife is ready to go too. He yells as loud as he can:
- Shall we go home 'Mother of 6'?
His wife, irritated by her husband's indiscretion, yells back:
- Any time, 'Father of 4'.

Marriage Part 4

A man and his wife are having problems at home and giving each other the 'silent treatment'. Suddenly the man remembers that the next day he needs his wife to wake him up at 5 am to catch a bussiness flight. Not wanting to be the one to break the silence (and LOSE), he writes her on a piece of paper:
-'Please wake me up at 5 am' and leaves it where he knew she'd find it.
On the next morning, the man wakes up to find that it's 9 am and that he's lost his flight. Furious, he was about to go and see why his wife hadn't woken him up, when he finds a sheet of paper on his bed. The paper reads:
-'It's 5 am now. Wake up.'

*********************

El Matrimonio (Parte I)

Despierta.'

I found these some time now, and had them in my computer, I just re-found them, and I'm posting them here for all of you to laugh with me!!!

greetings from the dark road,
