Shatter Me cover revealed!

Yesterday, Hollywood Crush revealed Tahereh Mafi's (I still don't know how to pronounce her name!) debut book's cover! And it is quite stunning! Take a look:

Isn't that an awesome cover! And the summary, so cool. A mix of dystopia and paranormal. Something fresh and interesting, can't wait!

These covers have something that make me want to keep staring at them, they possibly are among the best-looking covers I've ever seen, and I'm not just saying it because I love the books.

Cover and Excerpt Revealed: Becca Fitzpatrick's SILENCE!!!

WOAH!!! That is one awesome cover! LOVE the way Patch's carrying Nora, looks terrifying, haunting, lovely and... WOW. I need to read Crescendo, but I don't have money right now! *sad face*

He closed the distance between us, and just when I thought he'd drawn me against him, he stopped, holding himself in check. I exhaled, trying not to cry. He leaned his elbow on the door jam, just above my ear. He smelled so devastatingly familiar, soap and spice, the heady scent bringing back a rush of memories so pleasurable, it only made the current moment that much more difficult to bear. I was seized by the desire to touch him. To trace my hands over his skin, to feel his arms tighten securely around me. I wanted him to nuzzle my neck, his whisper to tickle my ear as he said private words that belonged only to me. I wanted him near, so near, with no thought of letting go.

Scott Westerfeld's Pretties Series Gets a New Look!

I just became a fan of Scott Westerfeld on Facebook, and this is what I found:

Aren't they amazing? I really like the old covers, but these ones are so much more mysterious, enticing and appealing. Besides, I love everything white and minimalist and these covers make me go "OOHH!" Too bad I have the old covers, and I don't even know if the new covers will be published in Argentina.

The awesome Steph Bowe has just shared with us the cover for her debut novel, Girl Saves Boy. Not only did she share the cover but the blurb as well! Both are amazing, and here they are:

Maybe you didn't hear, but the Cover for The Hunger Games #3 is OUTOUTOUT!

I love it, it's my favourite of the three <3
I love the fact that the bird's spreading its wings, representing freedom.
And that title? Totally unexpected! But I think it definitely suits the mood.

Here's what David Levithan (VP Editorial Director, Scholastic) had to say about the last installment in the trilogy:

I am not, under any circumstances, allowed to divulge the contents of the third Hunger Games book. Nada. Nothing. Not a peep. I can, however, share with you five things that will not be appearing in the new book:

• Panem is not shaken up when District 9 is nominated for a best picture Oscar.
• At no point does President Snow utter the line, “This is Snowmageddon, baby.”
• Despite internet rumors to the contrary, it is not revealed that Cinna has been secretly designing outfits for a Capitol operative known as “Lady GaGa.”

This book tops my TBR List, and I cannot wait till it's out on August 24th!
I'll have to wait a little longer though, but I think I can find a way to get it sooner ;)

NaNoWriMo Update

so,
i've decided i won't be finishing NaNo this year.

november is not a good month for me to do this,
since:
a) i'm graduating from high school in a week!
b) therefore, i need to focus on not getting my grades down, or my mum will kill me;
c) i'm busy organising a graduation gift for my friends :)
d) i have 20-so covers to make for NaNoers!

i've been told by many people that they'd love to have a cover made by me, and of course i said yes. but I had to put up a comment telling them i wasn't taking any more requests, since i had a lot already!

here are the last three i made:

i'm seriously proud of myself (don't mean to brag :P) i love how they look, and the authors do too!
that's all that matters to me, their approval.

i will not however, give up on my story.
i'll continue it once all this graduation madness is over.
because i seriously believe in it :)

I'm seriously thinking of taking a course to keep working on this, designing and stuff.

General Update

So, maybe you noticed I haven't been around lately...
That's because I just came back from La Plata (big city here in Arg), which is 1200 km away from my hometown, more or less...
The reason I went there is because I just enrolled in College! I'm starting on Feb 8th, and I'll be studying English Translation. We'll see if that's the career for me. (I haven't told anyone, maybe a person or two, but lately I've been having second thoughts on my career choice. I don't know what'll heppen next year, or if I'll decide to stay or change my career... I would've liked something to do with Art, maybe I'll do that later.)
For now, my goal with this is to find a job in a publishing home, o wherever, translating books! I'd love to do that :)

After having enrolled, I of course bought me some books! ;)
I found something similar to a book fair, and got:

* Uglies, by Scott Westerfeld.

* The Host, by Stephenie Meyer.

* and The Island Under the Sea, by Isabel Allende (all of these in Spanish).

I'm reading Uglies, and I'm liking it so far.

NaNoWriMo

My word count is currently of 12, 059.
But that's because I wasn't able to write for 3 days, so I'm good.

Also, I'm making covers for NaNoers! Here's the thread I started, and had over 20 submissions :) Everyone liked the samples I posted, I'd like for you to check them out and leave me a comment here telling me what you think! Covers can be seen on pages 1 and 2 of that same thread.

I dunno about you, but I like the US cover better. It would definitely catch my eye in a book store.

But I love this from the back of the UK one:

Now, being a SM fan myself, I think this is a book I'd want to read!
